The 7th Annual Night of the Stars Variety Show and Silent Auction was held on February 13 & 14, 2009. Even in the midst of a suffering economy people filled the seats to enjoy stellar performances, support student activities and mission of LEAF. This year also marked a couple of firsts. In 2009 the event moved to both Friday and Saturday evening performances to accommodate the expanding audience. This is also the first year we took the silent auction into cyberspace by adding an online auction component enabling bidders to to participate online well before the evenings of the performances.
The Night of the Stars is made possible by a group of dedicated volunteers who plan and promote it each year. Through the successful efforts of the Night of the Stars event committee, this annual event has become a highlight in the school year and a great opportunity, not only to raise funds for the LEAF Endowment, but for students and staff to be “stars for the night”!
The 2009 Night of the Stars Variety Show and Silent Auction generated over $20,000 in gross revenue through sponsorships, the silent auction and ticket sales.
