Troughout the year, LEAF celebrates students with a variety of events. Most of the events are designed to raise money for the LEAF endowment fund and also raise awareness of the importance of student educational opportunities and activities.
Night Of The Stars
Night Of The Stars is an annual fundraising "Variety Show" held each year at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud. While a few adults often get into the act, the show primarily features performances from District 742 students. Night Of The Stars showcases the importance of activities in our students' lives. It also features a silent and online auction fundraiser.
Appreciation Reception
Dedication to students and volunteers make LEAF grow. The Annual LEAF Appreciation Reception and Awards Recognition recognizes the people who have made special contributions to LEAF and the District 742 activities program through their tireless service or philanthropic contributions.
Fall Kickoff Luncheon
The Annual Kickoff Luncheon gets the new school year started on the right foot. Coaches, advisors, local dignitaries and, of course, students are invited to learn about how LEAF makes an impact in their school lives.
Apollo Giving Calendar
Until the Apollo Giving Calendar Fundraiser, each activity at Apollo had done separate fundraisers during their season to purchase supplies, transportation and even sometimes pay for coaches. The Apollo Giving Calendar is a program-wide fundraiser that involves all Apollo activities participants. Unlike most fundraisers, all of the proceeds (approximately 85% - 90% of total sales) go directly to the student athletic, academic or fine arts activities identified by the students themselves.
Food For Thought – Food Fair
On October 3, 2010 from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m., LEAF will be holding its first annual food fair event called Food For Thought on the front lawn at Tech High School. This fundraiser will feature a variety of food and refreshments from area restaurants, activities, visits from children's book authors and fun for the whole family. All proceeds will support academics in the district and the P.A.C.K.R.A.T. literacy program at your school.
Tech Tiger Scramble
August, 2009 marked the first annual Tiger Scramble Golf Tournament. The purpose of this tournament is to raise funds for the Tech athletic program. LEAF is involved with this effort because part of the funds raised go toward a designated fund within LEAF for Tech athletics. Once that fund reaches $25,000, it will begin to return 5% of its principal annually directly to Tech athletics. Meanwhile, it helps build the LEAF Endowment in support of all student activities district-wide. This year, the tournament returned approximately $6,000 to the LEAF Endowment with the same amount going directly for the Tech athletic programs. LEAF stands ready to support individuals who wish to make similar efforts for activities programs at any school in District 742.
