LEAF was founded in 1993 to provide supplemental financial assistance for the maintenance and enhancement of extra curricular activities in District 742 School. We are a fully independent, non-profit corporation with 501 ( c ) (3) tax exempt status, governed by a Board of Directors. The LEAF Endowment Fund was also established in 1993 and is managed by the Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF). The fund balance as of June 30, 2007 was approximately $450,000. Through a twice yearly granting program begun in 1996, LEAF has provided over $160,000 to K-12 arts, academic and athletic extra curricular projects and programs in the District’s schools. (In the 07-08 school year, LEAF will grant just under $25,000 to District 742 activities)! In 2002, LEAF contributed an additional $140,000 through a special fundraising campaign to help save the Junior High School activities program. A ticket surcharge program begun when LEAF was formed has resulted in additional $135,000 being contributed to the Tech and Apollo activities programs.
